Situated in the picturesque village of Aberlady, East Lothian, The Lodge at Craigielaw offers a tranquil retreat on Scotland's renowned Golf Coast. Opened in 2013, this 4-star accommodation is attached to the Craigielaw Golf Club clubhouse, providing guests with immediate access to the championship course. The Lodge boasts 25 well-appointed rooms, designed with golfers in mind, offering views over the golf course, the Firth of Forth, and the surrounding countryside. Its prime location makes it an ideal base for exploring nearby golf courses, beaches, and the historic city of Edinburgh, just a 30-minute drive away.
On-site at the hotel, Craigielaw Golf Club features an 18-hole championship links course designed by Donald Steel. The course offers a challenging layout with undulating greens and strategic bunkering, set against the stunning backdrop of the Firth of Forth.
Approximately 3 miles from the hotel, Gullane No. 1 is a world-renowned links course known for its firm fairways, strategic bunkers, and panoramic views. It has hosted numerous prestigious tournaments, including the Scottish Open.
Adjacent to Gullane No. 1, this course offers a slightly shorter but equally challenging experience, with a mix of inland and links-style holes that test a golfer's precision and strategy.
Also located near the hotel, Gullane No. 3 is the shortest of the three courses but offers a delightful and testing round with excellent greens and stunning views, suitable for all skill levels.
Just 2 miles from the hotel, Kilspindie is one of the oldest golf clubs in the world. This traditional links course offers a unique challenge with its tight fairways and small greens, all set along the beautiful coastline.
The Lodge offers 25 spacious rooms, each configurable as a double or twin. Thirteen rooms provide views over the golf course and the Firth of Forth, while the remaining twelve overlook a peaceful courtyard. All rooms are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee-making facilities. The Courtyard Restaurant at Craigielaw serves a variety of dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients.
